Applications can now be submitted digitally directly to the Student Administration Office!
The additional qualification in Inclusive Pedagogy with Visual Impairments for Teachers at Special Needs, General Education or Vocational Schools comprises a total of 40 ECTS. It is aimed at people who have a 1st state examination, work in the Bavarian teaching profession and have not yet studied the specialisation in vision. The aim of the programme is to increase professionalism in the pedagogical fields of action.
The programme builds on the pedagogical, didactic and psychological skills already acquired in the previous teacher training course. In addition to a general introduction to pedagogy for the visually impaired, the programme focuses on four specific areas that are considered particularly relevant in the school context: Braille full and short print, digital media and technologies, orientation and mobility as well as practical everyday skills and abilities and finally functional diagnostics of vision and cerebral perception.
The programme is implemented by integrating it into the ongoing full-time study programme. The resulting mixture of people in their first degree programme and professionally experienced, committed teachers can be expected to stimulate and motivate each other. Around 2/3 of the courses take place as synchronous digital programmes. Around 1/3 of the courses take place in person every two weeks during the lecture period at the University of Würzburg. The programme concludes with many skills, specialist knowledge and a certificate. Teachers in the Bavarian teaching profession are entitled to a reduction in their teaching commitments for the duration of the programme.
