About the person
Andrea Sijp completed a Master's degree in Special Education (NL: Orthopedagogiek) and Educational Sciences (NL: Onderwijskunde) at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. She also studied at the Technical University of Dortmund, Faculty of Rehabilitation Sciences, as part of a semester abroad. Since March 2021, she has been working as a research assistant at the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, in the field of pedagogy for visual impairments. From March 2019 to March 2025, she gained practical experience as a special needs teacher in various areas of the Berufsförderungswerk Würzburg in Veitshöcheim.
Main areas of research
Her work focuses on orientation and mobility, vocational rehabilitation for people with visual impairments and pedagogy and didactics for people with acquired visual impairments.
