Bachelor of Arts (BA)

Bachelor of Arts (BA) for extra-school Special Education (minor and major subject)

This course of studies prepares for Special Education employment opportunities apart from school (e.g. early education, housing, working, adult education).

There are two variants:

  • minor subject consisting of 60 ECTS

The minor subject Special Education offers a broad, interdisciplinary qualification and has to be combined with one of the 120 ECTS major subjects available at the University of Würzburg (e.g. pedagogics, music pedagogics, philosophy etc.).

  • major subject consisting of 85 ECTS

The major subject Special Education has to be combined with another 85 ECTS major subject available at the University of Würzburg (e.g. pedagogics, music pedagogics, philosophy, evangelical theology, cultural studies and many more). In the major subject one chooses additionally, apart from the contents of the minor subject, a compulsory optional subject out of the five branches of the Special Education (Education for People with Learning Disabilities (L), Education for People with Physical and Complex Disabilities (K), Speech and Language Pathology (S), Education for People with Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities (G) or Education for People with Emotional and Behavioural Disorders (V)).

The study plans (SVP) for the two Special Education BA-Variants can be found adjacent to this text. The other subjects chosen by you have an own SVP themselves, which can be seen on the particular institute-sides. They have to be combined self-dependent with the Special Education contents. You can check for further information with our expert advisers, if required.

Descriptions of the modules can be found in the module handbooks.

Information on the work placements and the Bachelor’s thesis can be found in the side menu on the left.
