    Winter Semester 21/22: Intercultural Competence in the Classroom (IKiK) – A Course to Promote Intercultural Competences of Prospective Teachers

    A Series of Courses of the Chair of Special Education V - Education for People with Emotional and Behavioural Disorders-  and the GSiK-Office in Cooperation with Internal and External Partners

    The Chair of Special Education V - Education for People with Emotional and Behavioural Disorders - of the University of Würzburg, headed by Prof. Dr. Roland Stein, is once again organizing in cooperation with the Office of the project 'Global Systems and Intercultural Competence (GSiK)' a serious of courses, which contents especially address to prospective teachers. At the same time, these courses can also be attended by students of all subject areas. In the winter semester 2020-21 the workshops have been available for the first time to external interested persons, especially to teachers, which are in the second phase of their training or already teaching after the second state examination. By this open access students of various subject areas can enrich the learning process by different points of view on a topic area, but also interested persons of different phases of training will contribute to a discriminating view on diverse topics by this exchange. The aim is to raise the sensitization with regard to the topic of intercultural competence and to strenghten such competences of (prospective) teachers.

    The workshops are free of charge for all interested persons. Students of the University of Würzburg can obtain for each participation one GSiK-point for their GSiK-certificate. In addition, the Chair of Special Education V also provides seminars in cooperation with the Chair of School Pedagogy in the context of this series, for which students can obtain a seminar point for the GSiK-certificate, too. We ask all students to register for workshops/seminars in time.
